Environment Care

At Arabian Adventures, we take great pride in initiating, supporting, and contributing to various activities related to the protection and preservation of the environment.

We believe that buying credits to offset carbon emissions does nothing to lower its impact on the environment. Instead, we focus on reducing our emissions across all our operations, by implementing novel steps and new initiatives every year. If a time comes when we can progress no further, plans are in place to offset the remainder.

Collaborations

A part of our profits are donated annually to deserving carbon neutralisation schemes around the world. We participate in the Emirates Group's recycling programme, and we work very closely with the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR). Our safaris, for instance, operate only on dedicated routes and tracks assigned by DDCR authorities, to minimise any effects on the environment and the desert ecosystem.

CEMARS

We are the only destination management company in the world to have achieved the prestigious CEMARS (Carbon Emission and Reduction Scheme) Certification. What this signifies is that we have audited our ecological footprint and have committed ourselves to significant steps towards reducing its impact. These include intelligent use of fuel, recycling programmes, energy efficient vehicles, among others.

Campsites

Recycling facilities located at all our campsites are classified by categories of paper, plastic, cans and biodegradable waste. The use of water is regulated and controlled to minimise waste, and the usage of generators for power limited to camp operation hours. Servicing of generators and storage or transfer of oil is done in specially adapted equipment to avoid any spillages on sand.

Under a major initiative, plans are underway to convert all our campsites to solar power. Feasibility studies and processes to implement this are in progress.

Clean up

Our camp staff regularly conducts 'Clean Up DDCR' days to clear any trash from routes and tracks used by tour operators.

Vehicles

Our unique back track system ensures that all our vehicles are continuously monitored for excess idle time. These are monitored with live tracking from our offices, and through daily reports.

We are engaged in conversation with General Motors to test futuristic Hybrid 4X4 vehicles to further minimise carbon emissions.
