Go for Golf

The Gulf’s golfing capital

Both professional and amateur players will enjoy world-class golf at any of the United Arab Emirates’ championship courses.

The Emirates Golf Club is renowned for its spectacular courses and the clubhouse. The intricate Majlis course, the first grass golf course in the Middle East, poses many challenges to players, as does the Faldo where players can test their expertise against the natural contours of the desert.

Stretching 7,538 yards with four sets of tees, The Els Club allows players a selection of different lengths from which to play. The course will offer players a challenging round accompanied by all the essential facilities that extend beyond the immaculate fairways and greens. Set on undulating slopes of native desert vegetation, it is a links style layout combining traditional classic design.

Unquestionably the most luxurious golf resort in the Middle East managed by Troon Golf, The Montgomerie, Dubai boasts a 7,396 yard championship golf course designed by Ryder Cup star Colin Montgomerie in association with Desmond Muirhead. Opened in October 2002, the spectacular links-land style course is consistently ranked as one of the top two courses in the Middle East. Five-star on-course accommodation, sophisticated dining, the renowned Academy by Troon Golf and the Banyan Tree’s Angsana Spa make it the region’s most desirable golfing destination.

The Four Seasons Golf Club overlooks the spectacular Dubai skyline. A well-sculpted 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, incorporates 11 lakes, ponds and lush greens. The course promises to be a challenge for seasoned golfers. The club house itself offers numerous dining alternatives and luxurious locker rooms including pre and post relaxation areas.

The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, is a true golfers paradise in the heart of the city spectacularly situated beside the Creek, which invites players to pit their skills against water hazards, sand traps and tricky contours of its 18-hole, par 71 tropical course. Play can continue long after dark, on its floodlit 9-hole, par 3 course.

The Arabian Ranches Golf Club was built as a true 18-hole, par 72, desert style grass course, a signature course designed by Ian Baker-Finch, in association with Nicklaus Design. Miss the immaculate grass of the fairways and greens and you enter the “sandy waste” with its indigenous shrubs and bushes. All standards of golfers will also appreciate the GPS (Global Positioning System) yardage service available on every golf cart. A round of golf at this club is an unforgettable experience.

The exotically landscaped 9-hole, par 36, Jebel Ali Golf Course offers superb views of the Gulf, with four tees offering different aspects of playability. Alternatively, just enjoy the floodlit driving range and putting green.

Uniquely set around a mangrove reserve, the Tower Links Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 golf course and golf academy - complete with driving range and short game facilities. The back-9 holes are floodlit, allowing for later tee-off times and cooler playing conditions throughout the summer. While the mangrove reserve provides a natural backdrop to the course, the greens and sandy expanses of this tourist-friendly course provide exceptional golfing challenges. The four tees of the course – professional, men, seniors and ladies, provide opportunities for all standards of play. This club is located in Ras Al Khaimah.
