Leaving Dubai in the morning, we head for the East Coast, diverting en route to pass through a modern Bedouin village and the camel farms that lie beyond it before heading along the scenic Hatta road. 

Arriving at the oasis town of Masafi, we stop off at the colourful market before continuing on along the shores of the Indian Ocean to the tranquil fishing town of Dibba, with its fish and vegetable markets. 

Our off-road adventure through the steep passes of the rugged Hajar range starts here, with a two-hour drive through dramatic canyons, deep gorges and rocky valleys. After lunch in these 'Grand Canyons', we head back to Dibba for a photo-stop in the wadis before returning to Dubai in the evening.
