Silks, Spices and Gold
Dubai city tourWe head north-east to Dubai - Abu Dhabi’s neighbouring emirate for a day of exploring.
Arriving at the historic Dubai Creek,we walk through the Bastakiya area - a cluster of beautiful, carefully restored old wind-towered houses. We visit the 150-year-old Al Fahidi Fort, which houses Dubai’s Museum. We continue our journey across the Creek by abra (water taxi) and after a short walk we arrive at the exotic spice souk, with its exquisite array of Oriental and Middle Eastern spices. Winding our way through the alleys of the spice souk, we enter Dubai’s dazzling gold souk allowing time for browsing and buying.
Our next stop is Souk Al Bahar, a vibrant, arabesque dining, shopping and entertainment experience located in the heart of the prestigious Burj Dubai area. After a brief stop for lunch we head to the Jumeirah Mosque and Burj Al Arab for photo opportunities before our drive back to Abu Dhabi.
